I enjoyed the action and adventure side of the story as well as the mushy lovey bits. Cameos by various Wildes including Doc, Grandpa and King’s sister MJ made the book all the more special. By the end of the book, I felt connected to the entire FBI team even as I was rooting for the Wilde man. Plenty of banner to help develop the characters. And as with all Lucy books, there is plenty of levity mixed in with the action. All you have to do is bend them over.” I laughed. Ziv says to him, “I swear you could seduce a gravy boat.” King replied, “Have you ever seen the curves on those things?” I asked seductively. At one point, King Wilde (the thief) is speaking to one of the members of the team. Along with the tension are great moments of levity. What a great set-up with tons of conflict. They now have to work together and neither trusts the other. You have the career professional hardnosed FBI agent and the thief who have been up against each other for years.
I haven’t seen many heist movies (although The Italian Job is one of my favorites), so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. I love Lucy Lennox books and this one was no exception. I have high expectations when I see his name and he never lets me down. All that and he gave a solid performance. He always does a great job but in this book he tackled Russian, Hungarian, Irish, and French. I want to start with Michael Pauley’s narration. Pulling this off means trusting Falcon and his team, but how do I trust the sexy agent when he’s staked his career on taking me down? The same man who double-crossed me years ago. The catch? The job involves stealing from the very man who taught me everything I know. Agent Dirk Falcon approaches me with an offer I can’t refuse: full immunity for my past crimes in exchange for helping him with one last job. After one too many close calls, I decide it is the right time to head home to Hobie, Texas, intending to hang up my lockpicks for good.
King: The key to being a good art thief is knowing when to call it quits. Falling for the charming art thief in the middle of an operation is way, way worse.
I thought nothing could be worse than being forced to work with the egotistical SOB, but I was wrong. A priceless artifact has gone missing, and King is the only one who can help recover it. Ever since, I’ve made it my mission to get my hands on him again, and this time I don’t plan on letting go. And I was the one who’d let him sweet-talk his way out of my grasp.
